Trouble for former Kolkata cop Rajeev Kumar as CBI asks him to appear Saturday

In mounting trouble for former Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has served him a notice to appear before it for questioning on Saturday, hours after his protection from arrest was struck down by the Kolkata High Court. On Friday, the Kolkata High Court set aside its order that granted him interim protection from arrest in the Saradha chit fund scam.

The court rejected Kumar’s plea for quashing of the CBI notice seeking his appearance for questioning, saying the petitioner’s allegation he was being singled out could not be true.
